In Loco Parentis Policy

  • Annual external Health and Safety audits are carried out by the British Safety Council. The Health, Safety and Welfare of all learners on Carter and Carter Group premises is a priority.

Carter and Carter Group’s Health and Safety policy sets out the companies policies in broad terms. Activity to support this policy is implemented through individual centre managers under guidance from the companies qualified Health and Safety consultants.
  • Apprenticeship Development Coaches are all occupationally competent and therefore aware of the Health and Safety requirements in a workshop environment.
  • During off the job training necessary overalls and protective footwear must be provided by the learner but all other tools and items of protective equipment are provided.
  • The highest risk category in terms of car drivers are young male drivers. In response to this Carter and Carter Group has a Driver Awareness programme delivered throughout the three year apprenticeship, which promotes safe driving techniques.
